Thomas Greenberry Carnicle, 85, died Tuesday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Lillie Hines with whom he made his home.
The son of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Carnicle, he was born April 05, 1861 in Clinton county, Iowa. He was married to Nellie Rich. They farmed until her death in 1940.
Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Hines and Mrs. John Lamphere, both of Strawberry Point; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Ann Hines of Strawberry Point, and Mrs. Josephine Brunson of Waterloo; three half-brothers, Jake Carnicle of South Bend, Neb., Cy Carnicle of Strawberry Point and Will Carnicle of Edgewood; nine grandchildren and an adopted son, Cecil Davis of Hazelton.
He was preceded in death by three daughters.
Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at 1:30 at the Gill Funeral chapel, conducted by the Methodist pastor, Rev. R. Park Anderson. Music was furnished by Leola Carter and Marjorie Homewood, accompanied by Mrs. Lloyd Kramer.
Casket bearers were Miles Alderson, Peter Hanson, Roy Hines, E. L. Malone, John Olinger, and Lee Wing. Burial was in the Ross cemetery at Cox Creek.
