Mrs. Eliza Glawe, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Taake, was born in Read township, Clayton county, Feb. 14, 1860. She was baptized March 14, 1860, and confirmed at Clayton Center, March 20, 1874.

She was married to Theodore Glawe March 15, 1883. Together they moved to a farm in Read township where they lived for nine years. Then they sold their farm and bought another in Farmersburg township where they lived until the year 1917, when they moved to Farmersburg.

She is survived by her children, Minnie Radloff of Farmersburg, Emelia Wilker of Read township, Louise Palas of Monona, Emma Bruns of Cresco, Theodore Glawe of Farmersburg township, Arthur Glawe of Read township and Arno Glawe of Farmersburg township. There are 20 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren, one twin sister, Mrs. Chas. Kelpein, and two brothers, August and George Taake.

Her suffering for the past nine months became more severe the past week and she died early Wednesday morning, Aug. 28 at 2:40.

She was 86 years, 6 months and 14 days of age.

Her husband, Theodore Glawe, died in 1924. One sister and three brothers also preceded her in death.

She was a member of the Farmersburg Lutheran Ladies Aid society.

The funeral services were held Saturday, Aug. 31, at 1:45 from the home in Farmersburg and at 2 o'clock at the St. John's Lutheran church there. Burial was made in the family lot in Clayton Center. Pastor R. H. Steege of the St. John's Lutheran church officiated.

The pallbearers were: Otto Fuelling, Marvin Mueller, Gustav Tielbar, Chas. Staade, Ed. Johnson and Albert Engelhardt.
