STRAWBERRY POINT: Clarence Henry Campbell, 79, died Sunday morning at 2:30 at Mercy hospital in Oelwein where he was taken Saturday. He had just returned Thursday to his home here after spending sixteen days in St. Luke's hospital in Cedar Rapids.
Son of Robert and Cordelia Hart Campbell, he was born at Aurora, Iowa, August 13, 1867. On August 31, 1890 he was married to Ida Fry, who died in 1937. He was again married June 09, 1938 to Mrs. Rose Marshall of Elkader.
Survivors are the widow; a son Harold of Rochelle, Ill.; a granddaughter, Judith Ann; and a sister, Mrs. Anslia Heath of Sioux City. A son Earl, preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held in the Gill funeral chapel Tuesday afternoon conducted by the Methodist pastor, Rev. R. Park Anderson. Music was furnished by Mrs. Hannah Talcott and Miss Leola Carter, accompanied by Mrs. Lloyd Kramer. Casket bearers were: George Barr, Bert Bush, Floyd Dittmer, John Jewell, Jack Klingbell and James Sauerbry. Burial was here.
