Pvt. Harvey C. Clefisch, 27, serving with the field artillery in Germany, was killed on December 3rd, according to a war department message to his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Fred Clefisch of Pleasant Ridge.
He entered the service in March 1942 and went overseas in November 1943.
Clefisch, who was 26 years old, was born in Jefferson Township on December 11, 1917, son of Fred and Louise (Lewin) Clefisch. He spent most of his life in Guttenberg where the family lived until recently when they moved to McGregor.
He is survived by his parents, one sister, Mrs. Hildegard Smith of Garber, three brothers, Raymond at home, Harley, a twin brother of Guttenberg and Kenneth, a paratrooper serving in France. An older brother, Lester, died in December, 1943.
He is the fifth McGregor youth to lose his life in this war.
