Clayton County Register, 18 July 1946.

William R. Glass died Saturday at his home.

Son of Lorenz and Elizabeth Jayme Glass, he was born Aug. 22, 1878, at Ft. Atkinson, Iowa. On June 03, 1902, he was married to Marie Baumgartner at St. Sebald. They farmed until retiring to Strawberry Point in 1944.

Surviving are his widow; three daughters: Mrs. Donald Meisgeier (Adelia) of Dundee, Mrs. Louis Niehaus (Erma) of West Union, Mrs. X. Ray Childers (Ruth) of Monticello; three sons: William G. of Manchester, Harold of Elgin, Donald of Strawberry Point; eleven grandchildren; a brother Phillip, Portland, Ore.; two sisters: Mrs. Caroline Kratz of Cresco, and Mrs. Mary Weger of Strawberry Point.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at Emanuel Lutheran church with burial in the Strawberry Point cemetery.
