Funeral services were held for Mary Ann Nugent of Elkader, Ia., on Tuesday July 18th at 9 a.m. at St. Joseph's church, the Rev. E. A. Fitzgerald officiating.
She was stricken with a severe heart attack on Monday July 15th and died Tuesday at 5 p.m.
Mary Ann Nugent was born in Read township, Clayton county, on October 21st, 1865, daughter of Patrick and Anne (Dunnigan) Nugent. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, Henry and James of Elkader, John and Michael of Merrill, Wis., and two sisters, Catherine, dying in infancy, and Mrs. Dave (Margaret) McClure of Merrill, Wis. Surviving are three brothers, Joseph of Dubuque, George of Elkader, and Frank and one sister Ella at home, thirteen nieces and nephews, and fourteen grand nieces and nephews.
Pall bearers were nephews and grand-nephews: Leo Nugent of Dubuque, Walter Nugent of Elkader, Francis J. Nugent of Manchester, Ia., Al Bergman, Kenneth Bergman and Robert Bergman of Maynard, Iowa.
Persons attending the funeral from out of town were: Mr. and Mrs. Al Bergman and sons Kenneth and Robert, Maynard; Mr. and Mrs. Leo Nugent, Jo Anne Mellon and Mr. and Mrs. Al Pafenfus, Dubuque; Francis J. Nugent, Manchester; Miss Clo Roach, St. Paul; and Miss Agnes Foran, Wauwatosa, Wis.
