Funeral services for Henry P. Fascher, 77, who died at his home near Elkader Monday, April 22, following a long illness, will be held at the home at 1:15 o'clock this afternoon (Thursday) and at Peace Evangelical and Reformed church in Elkader at 2 p.m. The Rev. Paul Kitterer will officiate. Burial will be in the East Side cemetery.

Funeral services for Henry P. Fascher, 77, who died at his farm home in Boardman township Monday, April 22, following a long illness, were held at the home at 1:15 o'clock Thursday to the Peace Evangelical and Reformed church in Elkader at 2 p.m. The Rev. Paul Kitterer officiated. Burial was in the East Side cemetery.

Henry Paul Fascher was born in Saxony, Germany, on November 09, 1868, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Karl Fascher. He received his education in Germany and was baptized and confirmed there. When twenty-three years of age he came to America with his mother and sister. They came directly to Clayton county where they joined their brother Karl near Garnavillo. Mr. Fascher spent the first eight years in America working out around Garnavillo and for the following eight years farmed between Garnavillo and Clayton Center. In 1910 he acquired the farm which has since been his home.

On February 14, 1896, at the home of his sister, Mrs. Lottie Tielbar, near Garnavillo, he was married to Agusta Messun. They were privileged to celebrate their golden wedding in February of this year. Six children were born to them. A daughter, Ella, died at the age of two and one-half years.

Surviving are his wife and one daughter, (Meta) Mrs. Richard Gatesch of Chamberlain, S.D., also four sons, Herman of near Elkader, Rudolph and Edwin at home, and Arthur of Harlan, Iowa.

Pallbearers were: Arthur Elvers, Geo. Behn, Jesse Stephens, Milton Klink, Pete Westby, Wm. Ehrhardt.

Caring for flowers were: Mrs. Pete Westby and Mrs. Emma Stephens.

Relatives from a distance attending the funeral were: Mrs. Richard Gatesch, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Fascher and son of Harlan; Mrs. Ray Sanger, Dubuque.
