Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon at Emanuel Lutheran church for John A. Huebsch who died suddenly Saturday morning. The Rev. S. J. Meyer was in charge of the services.
Casket bearers were: Adolph Huebsch, Herbert Andreae, Albert Graesch, Adolph Schuchmann, Will Arnold and F. S. Runyon. Burial was in St. Sebald cemetery.
Mr. Huebsch was the son of John and Mary Huebsch, born May 20, 1866 at St. Sebald. On Sept. 24, 1891 he was married at St. Sebald to Elizabeth Fliehler the Rev. G. Fuehr performing the ceremony. They farmed in that community until retiring to Strawberry Point in 1920. Mr. Huebsch had been secretary of the Strawberry Point Independant school board since July 1924.
Survivors are his widow; five sons: Oscar of Dubuque, Arthur and Harold of Strawberry Point; Walter of Moline, Ill., and John of Volga City; four daughters: Mrs. Louis Kupferschmidt (Ida) of Dubuque; Mrs. Werner Fritschel (Lottie) of Thorton, Mrs. S. M. Becker (Anna) of Grafton, and Mrs. Doyce Hamilton (Maxine) of Little Rock, Ark.; three brothers: Carl of Strawberry Point, William of Waterloo, and Mike of Cedar Rapids; a sister, Miss Mary Huebsch of Strawberry Point; 10 grandchildren. One son, Ervin, preceded his father in death.
