Pleasant Valley, May 1 - On Friday morning, April 27, Joseph Randall passed away at his old home where he had lived for forty-eight years.
He had been a great sufferer for several years past, and two weeks before his death had a stroke of paralysis and lost the use of his right side. He was patient and uncomplaining during his illness, but was unconscious the last thirty hours he lived.
He was seventy-seven years of age and leaves three children to mourn his loss, besides several grand-children and many other friends. He was a good neighbor and kind friend and possessed many noble qualities.
An excellent sermon was preached by Rev. C.E. Drew to a large gathering of friends, who followed him to his last resting place in the Cox Creek cemetery where he was laid by the side of his brother that died eighteen months ago. Thus passes the oldest of the pioneers of this neighborhood.
