Funeral services for John Martin Kruse were held at the Witt Funeral Chapel at 1 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 22 and at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran church at Elkport at 2 o'clock. The Rev. W. Weber officiated. Burial was in the Elkport cemetery.
Mr. Kruse died suddenly of a heart attack in the yard of his home on Sunday, Nov. 19. He had reached the age of 51 years, 3 months, 14 days.
John Martin Kruse, son of John and Line Kruse, was born in Volga township on the farm where his brother Will now lives, on August 05, 1899. He received his education in the school near his home. He was a farmer and had lived on the farm where death occurred for the past fifteen years. He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran church, Elkport.
He is survived by two brothers and five sisters, namely: Arnold Kruse, William Kruse and Mrs. Hilda Doeppke, all of Elkader; Mrs. Marie Stoeffler, Guttenberg: Mrs. Regina Noggle, Delaware, Mrs. Adela Coonfare, Edgewood, Mrs. Edna Schultz, Garber. He was preceded in dealth by his parents.
Pallbearers were: Alfred Kruse, Leonard Kruse, LaVern Stoeffler, Aldo Fehlhafer, James Berns, Rudolph Kainz.
