Jas. Harding died Friday, at the poor farm, aged about sixty-nine years. The funeral was held Monday, burial in Pleasant Grove cemetery in the family lot.

Years ago in 1852 the name of Harding was known from New York to Rocky Mountains, when Wm. H. Harding, father of James, was hotel keeper at McGregor. He was a history maker of this locality, and stands prominently in the memories of the oldest settlers. -- McGregor Times
