Funeral services were held Friday, Dec. 04, for Edward John Meisner, who died at his home south of town Tuesday evening, Dec. 01, at the age of 84 years. Mr. Meisner enjoyed exceptional health for a man of his age until two weeks before his death, when he suffered a stroke and later pneumonia, which caused his death.
Mr. Meisner was born July 30, 1858, at Clayton Center, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Meisner. Aug. 27, 1909, he was married to Augusta Asmus of Arlington, who survives him, with three children Mrs. Marie Meisner Masters of Dubuque, Otto of Zwingle, and Oscar of Elkader. Also eight granddaughters, one grandson and one great-grandson.
Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Paul Kitterer at the Evangelical and Reformed church, with burial at the East Side cemetery. Pallbearers were George Ehrhardt, Henry Reimer, Ben Meyer, Edward Leonard, Henry Wolf and Walter Sadewasser.
