Funeral services were held this afternoon for Chas. Piehl, who died at his home in Littleport Monday. Services were held at 1:30 at the residence and at 2 o'clock at Hope Lutheran church with Rev. Guetzlaff officiating. Burial was made in Union cemetery.

Charles Piehl, 83, who died at his home in Littleport, Nov. 16, was buried last Thursday at Littleport. Funeral services were held at the Hope Lutheran church.
Mr. Piehl was born March 02, 1859, in Volga township, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Piehl. He was married to Mary Musfeldt, June 20, 1885, at Elkport and they made their home on a farm northeast of Littleport. In 1910 they retired and moved to Littleport.
Mr. and Mrs. Piehl celebrated their silver wedding anniversary in 1910 and their golden wedding anniversary in 1935.
Besides his wife he is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Selma Andreae of Volga, Mrs. Amanda Pieck of Strawberry Point, Mrs. Hattie Betbeze of S_aford, Dela., and Mrs. Irma Klink of Littleport; one son, Clarence Piehl of Des Moines and one step-daughter, Mrs. Bertha Walke of Guttenberg. Twenty-one grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren also survive.
Mr. Piehl was township trustee, school board director and secretary of the cemetery association.
Mr. Piehl became ill last March.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Albert Guetzloff. Pallbearers were Harold Walke, Kenneth Walke, Herman Walke, Jr., Richard Pieck, John H. Andreae and Harold Klink.
