William Stroschein died at the McGregor hospital, Nov. 05, at 10 a.m. Funeral services were held Saturday in St. Michael's church in Garber with burial in St. Michael's cemetery, the Rev. H. Ginter officiating in the church and at the graveside.
Mr. Stroschein was born at Elkport, the son of William and Minnie Stroschein, July 17, 1882 and had reached the age of 60 years, three months and 10 days at the time of his death. On Aug. 30, 1910, he was married to Anna M. Tujetsch of Guttenberg. To this union two children were born: Leander of Garnavillo and Mrs. W. W. Owen of Marquette.
On July 30, he became seriously ill and was taken to the Mercy hospital at Dubuque where he remained four weeks. He was then taken to the McGregor hospital where he spent the last five weeks near the home of his daughter.
He was a faithful member of St. Michael's parish of Garber.
Besides his children, Mr. Stroschein is survived by his wife, four grandchildren, two brothers and one sister.
Among the out of town relatives and friends who attended the last rights were: Mr. and Mrs. George Albers, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Albers and family, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Kalke and son all of Mason City; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Stroschein and family, Mr. and Mrs. Cyrenus Stroschein, Lawrence Stroschein. Mrs. Rosa Meyer and son Frank, all of Garnavillo. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Matt of Postville, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Ley and daughter Shirley, Mrs. Vincent Kerpes and Harold Ley, all of Dubuque, Miss Cora Tujetsch, Mrs. Fred Bauer and Mary Tujetsch, all of Elkader.
Neighbors acted as pallbearers, namely: Ray Finnegan, C. P. Kreig, M. J. Stence, George Costigan, John Wittman and John Jaster.
