Mrs. Homer Galett, 80, a native of Elkader, died at her home in Chicago, Thursday, Sept. 10. Her body was brought here to the Witt funeral home and services were held at St. Joseph's church Saturday morning.
Mrs. Galett was Mary McDermott and her parents were pioneers of this county, having settled here more than a hundred years ago. She was born on a farm near Elkader. About 45 years ago, she with her widowed mother, moved to Chicago where she was married to Mr. Galett, a newspaper man.
After her husband's death, she was employed for several years at Marshall Field's millinery department.
Rev. Msgr. J. P. Taken conducted the funeral services and burial was made in St. Joseph's cemetery.
