Andrew Wolter died at the American Lutheran home in Manchester Tuesday evening at the age of 75 years, after a several months' illness, and was brought to the Dickman funeral home, from which place his funeral was held Thursday afternoon. He was buried in the City cemetery.

Mr. Wolter was born on June 25th, 1867, to Frederick and Anna Schierholz Wolter. He was confirmed in the Lutheran church in April, 1881. His wife, the former Margaret Sultow, died many years ago. One child was born to this union but died in infancy.

Mr. Wolter lived practically all his life in Garnavillo. He served as an assistant to his father in the harness shop, later he was a janitor at the public school, and for many years he was caretaker of the City cemetery.
