Mrs. Fred Orr died at her home in Highland township, Wednesday evening, Sept. 03, after a lingering illness.
Mrs. Orr, whose maiden name was Bridget Doyle, was born Apr. 09, 1874 at Dayton, Wis., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Dole. Her parents and nine brothers and sisters preceded her in death.
April 26, 1898 at St. James church, Dayton, Wis., she was married to Fred Orr. They came to Elkader, Iowa and settled on his farm in Highland township, where she spent her entire married life. She is survived by her husband and three children, Frances and William at home and Raphael on a farm near Volga. A niece, Mrs. Herbert Miller made her home with her aunt until her marriage.
Funeral services were held Saturday morning at 10 a.m., at the Sacred Heart church, Volga. Her pastor Rev. D. T. Noonan officiated. Burial was in Sacred Heart cemetery.
The pallbearers were Mike Martin, Gerald Feeney, Tim Hurley, Morris Minihan, Ed Finley, Jim Shea.
Relatives from a distance who attended were: Mr. and Mrs. M. Dyer and Margaret of Chicago, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. Anton Forster, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Forster, Mrs. Wm. O'Connor, all of Madison, Wis., Mrs. Herbert Miller, Middleton, Wis., Mrs. John Doyle, Mrs. Peter Doyle, Francis Doyle and Mrs. Geo. Farnsworth, Evansville, Wis., and Wm. H. Orr, Taylorsville, Mo.
