STRAWBERRY POINT: Funeral services were held Friday afternoon, August 28, at the Methodist church for Mrs. Clarissa Dripps, 67, who died Wednesday morning, following an illness of only an hour. Burial was in Strawberry Point cemetery. The Rev. Thos. Elwick, of Decorah, former pastor of the local Methodist church, officiated.
As Clarissa, she was born Dec. 25, 1874, in Clayton county, the daughter of William Henry and Mary Jane Dexter. She was married 1902 at Olin, Iowa. Mrs. Dripps has lived in this community for the past several years. She has been very active in the Red Cross work and was chairman of the knitting division. She was a faithful attendant of the Methodist church.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. John Port of Springville, Ia., and one brother, Lyman Dexter of Stevensville, Colo.
