Funeral services for August Frederick Harnack, aged 73, were held at two o'clock Thursday afternoon from the home with the Rev. Harvey W. Raduege officiating and burial was made in the city cemetery.
Mr. Harnack, the son of J. Harnack and Dora Hohn Harnack, was born at Clayton Center, July 18, 1868, and died at his home Tuesday morning after an illness of some months.
October 23, 1891, he was married to Miss Lizzie Drahn and last October they quietly celebrated their golden wedding anniversary. The first eleven years of their married life was spent at Remsen and then they lived for eight years at Woodstock, Minn., after which they moved to a farm near Monona and for the past seventeen years the family has lived in Monona.
Surviving him are his wife, Mrs. Lizzie Harnack; one daughter, Miss Emma Harnack and one son, Joseph Harnack, all of Monona. Two brothers, Henry Harnack of Reseda, California, and Louis Harnack of Monona, also survive him.
Three sisters and two brothers preceded him in death: Mrs. W. A. _. Muller, Mrs. Dora Lenth, Miss Lydia Harnack, Frank Harnack and Ernest Harnack.
