Mrs. Chester Texley of Chicago died Thursday at the home of her mother, Mrs. Roy Hines, northeast of Strawberry Point, after an illness of several years.
As Iowa Virginia Kellogg, daughter of the late Alfred Kellogg and Mrs. Roy Hines, she was born in Lodomillo township on Aug. 01, 1911. She was married to Chester Texley, Nov. 27, 1928. For the past ten years the home has been made in Chicago.
Her father and three sisters have preceded her in death. Surviving besides her husband and mother, are two sisters and four brothers, Mrs. Josie Klatt of Waterloo, Mrs. Iona Rosenkrans of Austin, Texas, Dalton of Dundee, Vern of Strawberry Point, Johnica of Garnavillo, and Gorda in the U.S. Navy (address unknown).
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Gill chapel conducted by the Rev. Glen S. Hartong, pastor of the Methodist church. Burial was made in the Strawberry Point cemetery. The casket bearers were six cousins: Ernie Kellogg, Milton Kellogg, Ray Kellogg, Ralph Kellogg, Elmer Scott and Miles Scott.
