Martin A. Olson, 64, died Tuesday, February 17, at three p.m., at the farm home in Wagner township.
Mr. Olson was born in this county, Oct. 15, 1878, the son of Aslak and Gro (Nesteby) Olson. September 04, 1912, he was united in marriage with Mabel Nesteby and since 1914 they have resided on a farm one mile southwest of St. Olaf.
Six children were born to this union. One son, Joseph, preceded the father in death. He is survived by his wife and the following children: Melvin and Verdine, Mrs. Lyle Olson, Elkader; Mrs. Ervin Moeller, Luana; and Mrs. John Limkemann, Farmersburg. Five grandchildren, five brothers and two sisters also survive. The surviving brothers and sisters are: Nels Olson, St. Olaf; Mrs. E. Sonstegard, Farmersburg; Mrs. T. T. Lofstgard, Elgin; Oscar Olson, St. Olaf; Lars Nosby, Anoka, Minn.; Albert Larson, Forest City and Ole Olson, Milwaukee, Oregon.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at one-thirty in the Witt Funeral chapel with L. H. Norby officiating. Burial was made in the United Brethren cemetery. Casketbearers were: Alph Olson, Ira Olson, Emil Sonstegard, Curtis Olson and Egar and Harvey Nosby.
