Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 1:30 at the home and 2:00 p.m. at the Frieden's Evangelical church for Fred Zahrndt, whose lifeless body was found hanging from a rafter in the granary on his place here about 4:30 p.m. last Monday, by Mrs. Zahrndt.
Burial will be made in the cemetery at Clayton Center. The Rev. P. Kitterer will officiate.

Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon, at one-thirty at the late home and at two o'clock at the Frieden's Evangelical church, for Fred W. Zahrndt. Burial was made in the Clayton Center cemetery. The Rev. P. Kitterer officiated at the services here while the Rev. E. A. Flesner officiated at the burial. Casket bearers were G. H. Meyer, Alf. Schneider, Harold Seifert, Elmer Schulte, Elmer Bente and Fred Seeman.
The deceased, Mr. Fred William Zahrndt, son of Louis and his wife Augusta, was born May 09, 1875, on a farm near Mederville, and died February 02, 1942 at the age of 66 years, six months and 23 days at Elkader.
Mr. Zahrndt received his education in the Mederville school. On the 17th of May, 1899, he was united in marriage to Sophia M. Seifert, at Clayton Center, Iowa. One child was born to this union; Earl L., now of Decorah.
The deceased spent his entire life in Clayton county. He and his wife lived on the farm until the year 1921 when they retired from active life and moved to Elkader.
Mr. Zahrndt was a member of Friedens Evangelical and Reformed church.
His departure is mourned by his wife and son Earl; one sister Ida F. Zahrndt of Elkader and one brother Louis of Edgewood, Iowa.
Relatives from a distance who attended the funeral were: Louis Zahrndt, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Peters of Edgewood; Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Voelker of Ryan, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Walter and Lenora Ruckdaschel, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Oldag of Postville; Mr. and Mrs. Earl Zahrndt of Decorah, and Otto Fuelling of Farmersburg.
