Mrs. Henrietta Brandenburg, 88, died at Mercy hospital in Oelwein Tuesday morning where she was taken a week ago, after a fall which fractured her hip, in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Dave Whetstone, with whom she has made her home for many years.

Henrietta Maxwell, daughter of Washington and Leah Maxwell, was born September 01, 1857, at Cox Creek. On October 29, 1876, she was married to Clinton Brandenburg. He died April 23, 1932.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Dave Whetstone of Strawberry Point and Mrs. Elmer Weyant of Edgewood; and three grandchildren, A daughter, Mrs. Charles Otterbeck, and a son, Pleasant, preceded their mother in death. Mrs. Brandenburg was the last of a family of nine children.

Funeral services were conducted Friday afternoon at the Methodist church by the Rev. Ben Shaw, pastor of the Congregational church. Dr. and Mrs. R. W. Dutton sang, accompanied by Mrs. John Knight.

Burial was in the local cemetery.
