Funeral services for William F. C. Mueller were held Friday, Dec. 07, at 1:30 at the home and at 2 o'clock at Zion's Lutheran church, Clayton Center. Services were conducted by the Rev. Victor Hackbarth and burial was in the new cemetery.
William F. C. Mueller, was the son of Dietrich Mueller and Louise Borcherding Mueller. He was born July 29, 1868, near Guttenberg, Iowa, in Jefferson township. He was baptized into the Christian faith as____ ____ and confirmed in April 1882. On March 20, 1894 he was married to Mrs. Sophia Thees, who died April 03, 1944.
Mr. Mueller came to the farm in March, 1890, first working for his sister Caroline until March, 1894, when he married and settled on the same farm and remained there continuously until he died, Dec. 04, after a lingering illness. He was a member of Zion's Evangelical Lutheran church of Clayton Center. At the time of his death he had reached the age of 77 years four months and five days.
Two brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.
Survivors are two sons, Alvin and Harry of Garnavillo; one brother, Gottlieb Mueller of Manley, Iowa; one sister, Mrs. Anna Backhaus of Manley, Iowa; and two grandchildren.
Pallbearers were: George Kelpein, Emil Best, Oscar Auer, Harvey Witte, A. F. Buckman, and Arnold Heuer.
