Funeral services for Eli Sheppard, 74, who died at his farm home west of Farmersburg Monday, Nov. 19, following several months of illness, were held from the home to the Norway Lutheran church Wednesday afternoon, Dr. S. J. Strandjord, pastor, officiating.
Burial was in the United Brethern cemetery in Wagner township.
Eli Adam Sheppard, the son of John and Elizabeth (Henkes) Sheppard, was born Nov. 15, 1871. He was reared from childhood and lived on the same farm all his life.
On Oct. 24, 1898, he was married to Sadie White, who survives him. To this union four children were born: Mrs. Henry (Grace) Kamaus of West Union; Lyle of Galesburg, Ill.; Merle, who died Nov. 02, 1945; and Leigh, who died Oct. 24, 1945. He is survived by one brother, George Sheppard of Kenyon, Minn. Also surviving are nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were: Elmer Kurth, Henry Miller, Eldon Kurth, Oscar Morch, Ed. Fuelling and Harvey Sass.
