Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 2:30 at the home and at 3:00 at the Norway Lutheran church for Mrs. Margaret Olson who died at her home Wednesday afternoon.
She was stricken at 10:30 Monday night after retiring and did not regain consciousness.
Margaret Baumeister, daughter of Christian and Margaret (Ziegler) Baumeister, was born near Garnavillo, Nov. 04, 1867. She was baptized in the Lutheran church of Garnavillo and came to Wagner township with her parents when she was a year old.
She was married to Ole S. Olson on June 06, 1887. They settled on a farm in Wagner township, which has since been her home.
Mrs. Olson was the oldest member of the Bergan Ladies Aid society. Her husband died Jan. 07, 1926.
Surviving are eight children: Mrs. Maude Walter, Luana; Mrs. Mary Engelhardt, Chester, Iowa; Mrs. Olivia Olson and Arthur, Clermont; Mrs. Oscar Torkelson, Farmersburg; Millard and Mrs. Vern Trudo, St. Olaf; and Mrs. Lloyd Bigler, Postville, also 29 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. P. N. Peterson of the same community; three brothers: John, Des Moines; Charley, Hartley; and Henry, Everly. One sister and three brothers preceded her in death.
Burial was in Norway cemetery with Dr. S. J. Strandjord, pastor, officiating.
Pallbearers were her grandsons: Richard Olson, Aines Olson, Clifton Olson, Quentin Torkelson, Clifford Walter, Abner Engelhardt, Howard Engelhardt and Harry Engelhardt.
