GARBER: Funeral services for Charles Brown were held at Fairview church on Tuesday afternoon with the Rev. S. E. Birkner, pastor of St. John's Evangelical and Reformed church of Garber. officiating. Burial was made in the Brown cemetery with the following as pallbearers: Robert Hansel, Doyle Oldham, Clyde Barnhart, Lloyd Johanningmeir, and Cleo Lee.

Charles Brown, son of James and Jane Brown, was born on Oct. 04, 1862, on a farm about two miles north of Colesburg. His entire life was spent on a farm.

He died in his home on Sept. 08, after having failed in health the past year.

He reached the age of 82 years, 11 months, 04 days, and leaves to mourn his death, six children: Mrs. Linnie Harbaugh, Manchester; Mrs. Mae Wolf, Guttenberg; Mrs. Ruth Hafner, Elkport; Earl Brown, Garber; Wayne and Emmet at home; 11 grandchildren and two brothers: Bruce and Frank of Colesburg. He was preceded in death by his wife, five sisters and five brothers.

Mr. Brown was well known in northeastern Iowa as a horse and cattle buyer.
