Funeral services for Henry Brass who died at his home here on Thursday, Sept. 13, were held from St. Joseph's church at 10 o'clock Saturday morning, the Rt. Rev. Msgr. J. P. Taken officiating. Burial was made in St. Joseph's cemetery.

Mr. Brass had been confined to his home for several years due to the infirmities of old age and blindness. He suffered a broken hip in a fall at his home Wednesday, this was followed by a heart attack on Thursday which was the direct cause of death.

Henry Brass, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Brass, was born in Dubuque county on September 14, 1860, and would have been 85 years old the day following his death.

He resided for a number of years in Algona and spent several years in the home of his niece Mrs. Geo. Darrow at Farmersburg.

In 1922 he was married to Anna Wagner at Elkader. She preceded him in death on April 10, 1941.

Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Mary Mallengier, Ollie, Iowa, and Mrs. Anna Wellsinger, Whittemore, Iowa, and one brother John Brass of Breckenridge, Minn. Preceding him in death besides his wife were three brothers and one sister.

Pallbearers were: A. A. Shultz, Max Richards, Harley Downey, John Poull, Fred Thillen and Albert Smith.
