John Richard Baker, 75, died Thursday at the home of his son Arnold. Son of John G. and Anna Baker, he was born at Elkader, May 11, 1870. He was married to Minnie Walter, who died December 09, 1929. Survivors are three sons, Arnold of Strawberry Point, Clarence and Vernon both of Waterloo, seven grandchildren, a brother Joe Baker of Volga City. A son Elmer and a daughter Caroline preceded hm in death.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Gill Funeral chapel, conducted by the Rev. Carrie V. Lucas of Pacoma, Calif. Music was furnished by Mrs. John Knight and Dr. R. W. Dutton accompanied by Mrs. Carrie Slagle. Casket bearers were Harold McKean, Elsworth Alderson, John Baumgartner, Marion Rummel, Gerald Stahl and Alfred Baars.
