MCGREGOR: Funeral services were held Monday afternoon in the Pilkington funeral parlors for Fred Sass, 77, who died at his home early Friday morning. The services were conducted by the Rev. F. Starke of the Lutheran church with burial in the Giard cemetery.

Mr. Sass was the last of seven children of Mr. and Mrs. John Sass, farmers in the McGregor vicinity, and lived since childhood around here. He retired from farming and moved to McGregor 25 years ago.

Surviving are his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Viola Stubor, Salt Lake City, Utah; Mrs. Roy Koth and Mrs. Eldo Sass, both of Monona; one son, Harvey of Farmersburg;12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by an infant son and a daughter, Mrs. Lottie Sass Appel.
