STRAWBERRY POINT: Funeral services were held here Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Gill Funeral chapel for James L. Alderson, age 70, who died from heart failure suddenly at his home here.
Burial was in the Strawberry Point cemetery, with the Rev. Park Anderson of the Methodist church in charge of the services.
James L. Alderson, son of George and Mary Ann Alderson, was born Oct. 09, 1874, at Cottage Hill, Iowa.
December 30, 1902, he was married to Mary Lingard at Richardsville, Iowa. To this union were born one son ad three daughters.
Mr. and Mrs. Alderson farmed for 30 years or more southeast of here, and in 1933 they retired to Strawberry Point where he resided at the time of his death. He was a member of the Modern Woodman of America, and the Independent Order of Forresters.
Survivors are: the widow, one son, Lloyd, and two daughters, Mrs. Cecil DeMoss and Mrs. Kenneth Otterbeck, all of Strawberry Point; four grandchildren, one brother, Richard Alderson of Manchester, and three sisters, Mrs. Tom Hanson of Dubuque, Mrs. George Edmunds of Strawberry Point, and Mrs. Mae Baker of California. One daughter, Clara, preceded him in death.
