Clayton County Register, 02 Aug. 1945.

George Uhl, 77, former local resident who had been in the state hospital at Independence, died there of paralysis. Funeral services were held here Saturday morning and burial was made in the Strawberry Point cemetery.

He was born at Johnstown, Pa., Dec. 19, 1867, the son of Joseph A. and Harriet E. Uhl. He came to Iowa in 1878 and settled on a farm in Delaware county, where he grew to manhood. Since then he has lived near here doing interior decorating. On June 10, 1905, he was married to Emma Collis. He is survived by two children Howard and Ada, three brothers and one sister.
