DIED. At Afton, Chenango county, New York, on Tuesday, March 12th, 1861, Ira Church, aged 72 years.
The deceased was the father of "Uncle Sam" and A. Jack. Church, of McGregor. He had excellent health for one of his age, till a very few days before his death; he was an active and well-posted politician of the Jackson School, and always exercised a patriotic, conservative influence in the range of his extensive acquaintance.

Notes: A.J. Church (32y), his wife Margaret & 2 young children are enumerated living in McGregor on the 1860 U.S. Census. The same census & place also enumerated Sam Church (40y), his wife Betsey & 4 children. Their father, Ira Church, served during the War of 1812. He has a memorial & gravestone photo on FindaGrave.
