Two Marquette soldiers have been Killed in action recently, according to telegrams received by their parents.
Pfc. Glenn Knapp was killed in action Feb. 24 on Corregidor. Private Knapp, son of Arthur Knapp of Marquette, was a paratrooper with the 503rd Infantry. He saw service at Guam and Leyte, previous to the Corregidor action.

The body of Glenn R. Knapp, son of Arthur J. Knapp, of Marquette, is arriving today for burial and will be at the home of his sister, Mrs. Louis Sass, this afternoon and evening.
Services will be held Friday morning at 9:00 o'clock at St. Mary's church, McGregor, with burial in St. Mary's cemetery.
Cpl. Glenn Knapp lost his life on the night of February 24, 1945, in the battle to recapture Corregidor, when a Japanese mortar shell scored a direct hit on his advance position.
Glenn Knapp was born September 6, 1916. He attended school at Marquette and graduated with the class of 1934.
He entered the service on February 4, 1941. He was first stationed at Ft. Snelling as military police. Later he was a machine gun instructor at Ft. Oglethorpe, Georgia. After joining the 503rd Parachute Infantry, he was trained at Ft. Benning, Georgia. This Parachute Infantry took part in 3 major battles and the unit to which Cpl. Knapp blonged, received a citation for action at Lae New Guinea, and in the Markham Valley.
He is survived by his father, Arthur J. Knapp, one brother, Raymond Knapp, and one sister, Mrs. Louis Sass.
