Funeral services for Mrs. Angeline Brust, 79, were held from the Witt Funeral Chapel here at 1:30 p.m. Sunday and the Friedens Evangelical church at 2 o'clock. The Rev. Paul Kitterer officiated. Burial was made in the East Side cemetery.
Mrs. Brust had been in failing health for a number of years. Several weeks ago she fell and broke her hip. She was taken to the University hospital at Iowa City where she died Wednesday, Nov. 23, 1944.
Angeline Harms Brust was born in Illinois, April 05, 1865, the daughter of Henry and Martha (Meyer) Harms. She came to Communia, Ia., with her parents when she was a year old. She received her education in the rural schools. Nov. 24, 1891 she was married to John Brust at Elkader, Ia. The young couple farmed at Communia, Ia., for one year then moved to Norfolk, Neb., where they remained two years, returning to Clayton County. They farmed two miles north of Elkader, later moving to LeMars, Ia. In 1918 they returned to Elkader which has since been their home. Her husband preceded her in death on April 24, 1935.
Mrs. Brust was a member of the Friedens Evangelical church and the Frauen Verein. She is survived by one brother Frank Harms of Roundup, Mont. One brother S__ preceded her in death 1937.
Those who attended the funeral from a distance were: Mr. and Mrs. Charles Carrington and daughter, Mrs. Geo. Speake and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Mellish all of Marion, Ia.; Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Harms and Mr. and Mrs. George Harms, all of Mason City; Mrs. Ray Callahan of San Francisco, Calif.; Mrs. Agnes Hemphill and Frank Harms, Jr. of Roundup, Mont., and Justus Herwig of Wadena.
