Funeral services for William F. Boege, 77, who died at the home of his son Fred, in Volga township, Friday morning Nov. 24, following 11 months of failing health and old age complicated by organic disorders, were held from the home to the Hope Lutheran church in Littleport Monday afternoon, Nov. 27. The Rev. E. H. Mueller officiated. Burial was made in the Union cemetery at Littlport. A quartet composed of Mrs. Pearl Kregel, Mrs. William Refle, Mrs. Ransom Ruegnitz and Mrs. Roy Ruegnitz sang several selections. They were accompanied by Mrs. E. H. Mueller.

William Fredrick Boege was born in Dageling, Germany, Dec. 11, 1866. He was baptized, instructed and confirmed in his native country. April 13, 1892, he was married to Miss Magdelena Behrens at Klemme. They were privileged to celebrate their golden wedding anniversary in 1942.

Mr. Boege had three years military training in his native country. He immigrated to America in 1901 and settled at Clayton Center in Clayton county, where he was engaged as a stone mason. Later he operated a farm near Elkader. The past five years he has made his home with his two sons, Fred and Carl of Elkport and two daughters, Mrs. Wilhelmine Detert of Fond du Lac, Wis., and Mrs. Paula Pixler of McGregor; also 13 grandchildren. One son Henry preceded his father in death.

Pallbearers were Charles Reichert, John Zapf, Louis Winch, Wm. Steen, Wm. Refle and Louis Kruse.

Those attending the funeral from a distance were: Mr. and Mrs. Chris Detert, Fond du Lac, Wis.; Mrs. Paula Pixler of McGregor, Mrs. Otto Hopper, Alfred Hopper and Mrs. D. Christianson of Indiana.
