ST. OLAF: Funeral services for Mrs. Albert Clauson, 61, were held on Monday afternoon at the Schultz funeral home at Monona to the Norway Lutheran church. Rev. S. J. Strandjort officiated. Burial was in the Norway cemetery.
Kjerste Kjomme Clauson, daughter of Ole and Torgam Kjomme, was born April 21st, 1883, in Numedal, Norway. and died Nov. 25th, in St. Olaf, Iowa.
In 1907 she came to the United States to a brother Ole Kjomme at Bagley, Minn., where she lived for ten years. She came to Clayton county in 1917 to the home of her aunt, Mrs. Lars Embretson. Jan. 22nd, 1919 she was married to Albert Clauson of St. Olaf. Two children were born to them, Molly, who died at the age of 10 years, and Clifton, who is at present serving with the U.S. army in France.
Beside her son and husband she leaves to mourn her death three brother's and one sister in Norway from whom she had received no word since the invasion, also nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
