Clayton County Register, 26 Oct. 1944.

Funeral services were held at the Congregational Christian church here at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon for Mrs. Clara Munger Whitcomb, 81, who died Sunday night at the Manchester home for the aged. The Rev. George M. Richter officiated. Burial was made in the East Side cemetery.

Clara Munger, daughter of Jarius and Cordelia Armstrong Munger, was born in Pennsylvania, April 12, 1863.

She came to Iowa with her parents when a small child and lived in LaCrosse, Wis., Elkader and Charles City. She went to Manchester from the latter City last March.

She was married to Frank Whitcomb April 16, 1893.

Mrs. Whitcomb is survived by one son, Robert H. Whitcomb of Charles City. She was affiliated with the Lutheran church.
