Funeral services for Frank Weiter, 85, who died here at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Catherine Jehring, at 9:30 Sunday morning following a five weeks' illness, were held from the Hoffman mortuary in Dubuque to the Holy Ghost church at that place Wednesday morning at 9 o'clock. Burial was in Linwood cemetery there.
Mr. Weiter was born in Germany Nov. 26, 1858, later coming to Dubuque where he lived until three years ago when he moved to Elkader to make his home with his daughter. His only employment was with the Milwaukee railroad and he retired 20 years ago.
Oct. 19, 1880, he was married S. S. Peter and Paul church at Sherrill, to Katherine Duehr. She preceded him in death in 1939.
He is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Jehring and Mrs. Anna Weingand, of Elkader, Mrs. George Behr of Key West, and Miss Lena Weiter of Dubuque, and two grandchildren, J. James Jehring of Purdue university and Miss Evelyn Behr of Key West.
