Funeral services for Mrs. Maurine Allen Chapman, who died in St. Luke's hospital, Cedar Rapids, Sept. 13, were held at the Congregational Christian church here Saturday afternoon with the Rev. Geo. Richter officiating.

Mrs. Chapman, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Allen, was born in Elkader, July 25, 1902, and received her early education in the local public schools, graduating from high school in 1921. In 1925 she graduated from the state university at Iowa City, following which she worked at the Allen Motor company until her marriage Aug. 04, 1934, in Cedar Rapids, to Frank H. Chapman. They lived successively in Madison, Milwaukee and Green Bay, Wis., and Indianapolis, Ind., before moving recently to Cedar Rapids where Mr. Chapman is now associated with the Allen Motor company.

Besides her husband, she is survived by her eight-year-old son, Allen Ray; her mother, Mrs. Nettie Allen of Elkader; two brothers, Raymond of Cedar Rapids and Lieut. Alvin of the U.S. Naval Reserve in California. Her father died Nov. 06, 1940.

She was a member of the Eastern Star and Sigma Kappa sorority.

Pallbearers were R. L. Jipson, Walter Bink, Jack Donlon and Merritt Hamilton of Elader, Allan Baldwin of Cedar Rapids, and Valmah Mueller of Garnavillo.

The following relatives from out of town attended the funeral: Fred Chapman of Indianapolis, Ind.; Lemuel Allen and Mrs. Paul Bal__e of Slater, Iowa; Mrs. C. W. Grimes of West Union; Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Hirsch, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Walz and Miss Marjorie Bergmeyer of Dubuque; Mr. and Mrs. John de Neui and family of Waverly; Mr. and Mrs. Archie and Mrs. Martin Hirsch of Mc- (next couple words apparently missing) Fritz, Mrs. Donald Fritz and Mr. and Mrs. Martin Hirsch of McGregor; Mrs. Geo. Wetter and Family of Orchard, Iowa.
