Mrs. Katherine Keehner, 81, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Leo Schulte, last Sunday afternoon following a long illness. She was the only daughter of the late Peter and Martha Thompson and was born Feb. 25, 1863, in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. When she was seven she came to America with her parents and settled permanently in the Garnavillo vicinity except for a few years after her marriage to Gottlieb Keehner of Potosi, Wis., Aug. 30, 1883, when she lived in Canada.
Mr. Keehner died 13 years ago and one daughter died in infancy. Surviving are four daughters: Mrs. Amanda Seekatz of Pasadena, Calif.; Mrs. Leona Beckett, McGregor; Mrs. Amelda Schulte, Garnavillo; Mrs. Lucy Farrell, Pasadena, Calif,; two sons, Walda, near Guttenberg, and Verni of McGregor. Twenty-one grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren also survive.
