Funeral services for Marvin Hedemann, 51, who was found dead in his car near the Lloyd Mueller farm north of Garnavillo last Friday afternoon, were held Tuesday afternoon. Mr. Hedemann had not been in good health for some time. The Rev. V. Hackbarth conducted the services at the farm home and at St. Paul's church and the Lemka-Stendel American Legion post of Elkader had charge of the services at the graveside.
Mr. Hedemann was the son of Carl and Margaret Hedemann and was born Dec. 14, 1892, in Garnavillo township. He served in the Army Medical corps during the first World War, 1918 to 1919. Aug. 23, 1923, he was married to Alice Baker, who survives him with two sons, Grover and Darrell, and one daughter, Mardelle. Also surviving are his parents, one brother, Robert of Nichols, Iowa, and two sisters, Mrs. Carrie Milewsky and Mrs. Albert Blandau.
