LITTLEPORT: Harrison H. Nading was born in Lodomillo township, Clayton county, Iowa, Jan.10, 1869, and died at his home in Littleport Thursday, Aug. 03, 1944, at the age of 75 years, five months and 23 days after a lingering illness of one and one-half years.

He was a son of Corintha, nee Metcalf, and William Nading, pioneers of this county, and was the oldest of a family of 12 children. His parents and five brothers preceded him in death.

He was united in marriage with Lena Stalnaker Aug. 26, 1889, celebrating their golden wedding quietly in their home in 1939. Five children were born to this union.

His entire life was spent in Clayton county, farming until 1904 when he and his family moved to Littleport where he worked on the railroad for 26 years.

He is survived by his widow and three children: Ollie (Mrs. Thomas White) of Guttenberg; Merle of Lawler, Minn. Hazel (Mrs. Thomas Moser) of Osterdock, 12 grandchildren, three of whom are in the armed forces. One grandson, Douglas White, lost his life in Africa in February, 1942. He is also survived by four brothers, Merritt, Flouris and Forrest, all of Littleport, James of Edgewood, and two sisters, Mrs. Grace Bushaw of Edgewood and Mrs. Ruby Stone of Cedar Rapids. One daughter, Maggie, preceded him in death March 08, 1917, and a son, Raymond, July 04, 1931.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, Aug. 07, at two o'clock from the Mrs. Minnie Nading home in Littleport and were in charge of the Rev. E. H. Mueller of Elkport. Burial was made in Union cemetery.
