Funeral services for John O. Wold were held at the Marion Lutheran church at Gunder, Friday, July 07, and burial was made at the Gunder cemetery with the Rev. A. O. Nesset officiating. Casket bearers were six nephews, Walde and Lorando Embretson, Randolph and Mervin Reierson, Kenneth Olson and Burdette Wold.

Mr. Wold died at the University hospital at Iowa City, July 03, at 3:35 a.m. as the result of an infected ulcer with which he suffered for several years. Other complications arose after he entered the hospital about three months ago.

Mr. Wold was born in Wagner township, Clayton county, March 17, 1881, the son of Ole and Carrie Johnson Wold. He was baptized and confirmed at the Norway church and received his education in Clayton county schools. He also attended St. Olaf college at Northfield, Minn. He was married to Mary Reierson in 1909 and they lived on his brother's farm near St. Olaf for six years and continued farming near Gunder until 1933. They then lived in Clayton and Fayette county until two years ago when they moved to Gunder.

Mr. Wold was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, two sisters, one son Milo and a daughter who died in infancy. He is survived by his wife, four daughters, Lillian, Mrs. Mervin Anderson, St. Olaf; Mildred, Mrs. Oluf Olsen of Waterloo; Arnelia, Mrs. Kenneth Paige of Chicago and Dolores, Mrs. Robert Pine, Washington state; three sons, Realto, Edgewood; Clifford, Strawberry Point; Nilus, Waterloo; three brothers, Bennie, Gunder, Andrew and Theodore, St. Olaf; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Embretson, Farmersburg; Mrs. Louie Reierson, Elgin and Mrs. Adolph Olson, St Olaf. Seven grandchildren also survive.
