Clayton County Register, 06 July 1944.

STRAWBERRY POINT: Richard Laity, 73, died Wednesday evening at his home. For a time he was at Rochester, Minn., where he underwent an operation.

He was the son of Richard and Elizabeth Hebron Laity, born Sept. 10, 1870, in Delaware county. On Feb. 18, 1908, he was married at Winthrop, Texas, to May McGrath. They farmed until retiring to Strawberry Point.

Survivors are the widow, a daughter, Mrs. Ralph Feeney, a granddaughter, Mary Ann Feeney, two brothers, Harve and Jay Laity, three sisters, Mrs. L. N. Donahue, Mrs. Zilla Gladwin and Mrs. John Jewell, all of Strawberry Point. Two sisters and a brother preceded him in death.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday morning at St. Mary's Catholic church. Burial was in St. Mary's cemetery.
