Funeral services for Lydell K. Palmer and is brother, Curtis L. Palmer, who died within six hours of each other following an attack of flu, measles and pneumonia, were held from the family home Tuesday afternoon, Feb. 29. The Rev. Hartsough officiated. Florine Lau, Bernice and Bernita Thein sang. Miss Zelda Gerloff of Garber was the accompanist. Burial was in the Hansel cemetery at Garber.

Lydell Keith Palmer, second son of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Palmer, was born Nov. 27, 1929, at Mederville. He died Suddenly Sunday morning, Feb. 27, at 5 o'clock, at the farm home of his parents near Elkader. He had contracted the measles and the flu, which later developed into double pneumonia. He attended several rural schools and had just entered Elkader high school this year. Most of his life was spent in Clayton county, except for a while when the family lived in Winneshiek county.

Curtis Leo Palmer, a younger son of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Palmer, was born Feb. 27, 1934, and died at the home of his parents Saturday evening, Feb. 26, at 11 o'clock. He also had measles and complications. He had been an invalid since birth and had reached the age of 10 years.

Surviving besides the parents are four brothers, Duane, Lowell, Roger and Ronald, their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Borrett of Garber and Bert Palmer of Elkport; their great-grandfather, Dave Hansel of Elkport. They were preceded in death by a brother, Donald Ray, in 1935, and their grandmother, Mrs. Bert Palmer.

Pallbearers for Lydell were: Clyde Jennings, August Thein, Cletus Amling, Lawrence Lewin, Roy Schlee and Martin Jaster.

Pallbearers for Curtis were: Merlin Wagner, Ralph French, Fredrick Thein, Donald Zearley, Burnell Smock and Cecil Purman.
