Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Schutte funeral home for Mrs. Henry Johansen, 44, who died at the hospital in Waukon following an illness of several months. The Rev. P. F. Kjorlaug of Waukon conducted the services here, after which services were held in the Marion Lutheran church in Gunder, where the Rev. S. J. Strandjord officiated. Burial was in the adjoining cemetery.
Alma Nesteby, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nels Nesteby, was born in Echo, Minn., Oct. 17, 1899. She was married to Henry M. Johansen on June 28, 1923, and spent most of her life in Postville.
She is survived by her husband, her aged father, four brothers, Alfred and Albert of Decorah, Elmer of Marshall, Minn., and Carl of Dubuque, and five sisters, Mrs. Ida Jones of Waukon, Mrs. Mabel Olson and Mrs. Mayme Embretson of St. Olaf, Mrs. Emma Lantz of Elgin and Mrs. Inga Baker of Waterloo. Her mother and a brother, Theodore, preceded her in death.
