Death of an ex-editor -- News reaches us of the death of Waldo Brown, brother of Dr. Luther Brown, of Postville. He died in Washington, D.C., on the 19th inst., of valvular disease of the heart; aged 52 years.
We were very wellacquainted with the deceased, having met him many times while he was the editor of the 'Prairie du Chien Union' a paper which he conducted for several years. He was also for a short time in charge of the 'McGregor News'.
For the past six years he has resided in Washington, and was employed in the Interior Department of the government. He leaves a wife but no children to mourn his loss.
Mr. Brown was a man of more than ordinary ability; he was highly educated, was a ready, vigorous and forcible writer; of refined principles, correct habits and gentlemanly deportment at all times. He won friends among the very best classes of people. His death will be mourned by those who knew him best.
