STRAWBERRY POINT: Charles Easton, 79, died at his home here Friday from a heart attack following pneumonia. He was born Sept. 03, 1864, northeast of Strawberry Point, the son of Lorenzo and Alice Easton. On Nov. 28, 1889, he was married to Gusta Schmidt of the same neighborhood. They farmed in that community until retiring to their present home in Strawberry Point in 1919.
Surviving are the widow and nine children: Mrs. Clarence Moser of Cedar Rapids, Mrs. Ira Rankin of Strawbery Point, Mrs. Dave Thompson of Millington, Mich., Mrs. Frank King of Cincinnati, O., Mrs. Ralph Grimm of Anamosa, Mrs. Clarence Mitten of Marshfield, Wis., Mrs. Eva Fitzpatrick of Independence, Herbert of Rockford, Ill., and Howard of Luana. Nineteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive. One son, Elmer, died at the age of 21 years.
Funeral services were held Monday morning, with burial in the Strawberry Point cemetery.
