Funeral services for Miss Mary Losch, 83, who died at her home Monday afternoon, Jan. 17, after a two weeks illness due to the infirmities of old age, were held at 9 o'clock Thursday morning, Jan. 20, to St. Joseph's church at 9:30 o'clock. The Rt. Rev. Msgr. James P. Taken officiated. Burial was in St. Joseph's cemetery.
Mary Losch was born on a farm near Elkader, Feb. 20, 1860, the daughter of Mathias and Louisa Losch. Most of her life was spent on the home farm. In 1936 she moved to Elkader, which had since been her home.
She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Peter Miller, and one brother, Henry Losch, both of Elkader.
Pallbearers were Arthur Connors, Henry Connors, Dr. Merle Miller, Harry Kelleher, Robert Meyers and Francis Losch.
Relatives from a distance who attended the funeral were: Henry Connors and son, of Cresco; Mrs. Herb. Masuen of Garnavillo, Mr. and Mrs. Art Miller of Littleport, Miss Rose Ehrhardt and Miss Coleen Kelleher of Peoria, Ill., Mrs. Walter Oakley of Dubuque, and Dr. Merle Miller of Ossian.
